Capture Pro - Privacy Policy

Overview
Capture Pro (“the Extension”) is a screenshot tool that captures, annotates and shares images of web pages. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how your data is handled.
In short: your screenshots stay on your device unless you choose to share one. The only times anything leaves your device are when you create a share link, or when you verify a Pro licence key.
What We Collect
What we DO NOT collect
- We do not track your browsing history
- The Extension contains no analytics, usage tracking or telemetry
- We do not monitor your activity
- We do not use cookies or tracking pixels
- We do not sell or share your data for advertising or any other purpose
What is stored on your device
- Your screenshots. Recent captures are kept inside the Extension on your own device, so you can reopen them. Up to 50 are kept, and older ones are removed automatically.
- Screenshots you save. When you click Save PNG, the image goes to your Downloads folder like any other download.
- Extension settings. Your preferences, your daily export count, and your Pro licence details are stored locally using Chrome’s storage.
This data stays on your device. It is never sent to us.
What leaves your device, and only when you choose
1. Share links (Pro feature)
When you click Share link, that one screenshot is uploaded so it can be viewed at the link you are given.
- The image is stored with our storage provider, Supabase
- The page that displays it is served by Netlify
- Anyone who has the link can view the image, so only share links with people you trust
- Shared images are deleted automatically 30 days after they are created
- Nothing is uploaded unless you click Share link. Capturing, annotating, copying and saving never upload anything
Before you share, you can use the Blur tool to pixelate private details such as email addresses, names or account numbers.
2. Pro licence verification
If you enter a Pro licence key, it is sent to Gumroad, where Pro is purchased, to check that it is valid. Gumroad returns the email address used for the purchase. That email address is shown in the Extension’s settings on your device and is not sent anywhere else.
How Your Data is Used
Your data is used only for the following purposes:
- Storing your screenshots and settings on your device
- Enforcing the free plan’s daily export limit
- Creating share links, when you ask for one
- Verifying your Pro licence
Data Storage and Retention
- Screenshots and settings are stored locally on your device
- Shared images are stored online for 30 days, then deleted automatically
- There are no user accounts, and nothing is backed up to the cloud
- When you uninstall the Extension, everything stored on your device is deleted. Images you have already shared stay online until their 30 days are up. If you need a shared image removed sooner, contact us and we will delete it
Third Parties
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. The Extension only connects to these services:
- Supabase stores shared images. Used only when you create a share link.
- Netlify serves the page a share link opens. Used only when someone opens a share link.
- Gumroad processes Pro purchases and verifies licence keys. Used only when you buy Pro or enter a licence key.
- Chrome Web Store installs and updates the Extension, as part of normal Chrome behaviour.
Like almost any website, Supabase and Netlify may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser type, when a share link is created or opened. Each provider handles that data under its own privacy policy.

Separately, the Chrome Web Store provides us with anonymous, aggregate statistics about visits to the Extension’s store page, through Google Analytics. This is governed by Google’s privacy policy and does not include anything you do inside the Extension.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- View, change or delete the data stored on your device at any time. Settings includes a button to clear saved captures, and a button to remove your licence
- Uninstall the Extension, which deletes everything stored on your device
- Ask us to delete an image you have shared before its 30 days are up
- Contact us with any privacy question or concern
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, with a new “Last Updated” date at the top.

Summary
Capture Pro is privacy-first. There is no tracking and no account. Your screenshots stay on your device unless you choose to share one, and shared images delete themselves after 30 days. That’s it.
